On The Go Tours, an award-winning tour operator specialising in locally led group tours and tailor-made holidays to over 60 worldwide destinations, recently hosted a group of global travel agents in Nepal on a specialised version of their Nepal Encompassed nine day tour.

Australia Camp, Annapurna Region, Nepal

Following Nepal’s devastating earthquake in 2015, the tourism sector has been slow to recover so On The Go Tours has been working to bring visitors back to this incredible part of the world and play a part in the country’s long recovery process.

The group included global representatives from the Flight Centre Group as well as the international On The Go Tours network. Flight Centre representatives came from the northern and southern hemisphere including; Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The nine-day itinerary was led by On The Go Tours expert local guide Anil and took the group to experience Nepal’s many breathtaking many attractions. As well as the ancient cities, temples, palaces, mountain ranges, a game park and waterfalls, agents were taken to a local school and a Tibetan refugee camp.

This diverse itinerary includes everything from exploring the ancient city of Bhaktapur, the jewel in Nepal’s cultural crown, where the group had the opportunity to get hands on and put their yoghurt and pottery making skills to the test, to watching the sunrise from the World Peace Pagoda which overlooks the magnificent Annapurna Range. Other highlights include a safari excursion in Chitwan National Park, which is home to 500 species including the vulnerable one horned rhinoceros, gharial crocodile and Indian elephant, enjoying a boat ride on the picturesque Lake Phewa, and exploring Kathmandu’s temples and shrines, as well as soaking up the local culture with a rickshaw ride and evening  walk around Thamel Market.

Local School, Chitwan Nepal

The group enjoyed a diverse range of lodgings, all of which are inspired by their local surroundings and encompass local culture or traditions. From the urban Hotel Manaslu which was built in traditional Nepali style and features the works of local artisans, to the Jungle themed Machan Country Villa in the heart of Chitwan National Park, and the contemporary Mount Kailash Resort which offers a superb outdoor pool, a comfortable night is a permanent fixture on this itinerary.

There is no doubt Nepal has touched the hearts of this group of outgoing travel agents, and with the country’s recovery forging ahead Nepal is re-emerging as a bucket list destination.

On The Go Tours is currently offering no single supplements for solo rooms for selected 2017 departures so is a perfect tour for adventurous solo travellers.  For more information or to book, please visit or call +1 300 855 684.
