Capella Washington D.C.’s inviting Grill Room will be featuring an “Once-in-a-Lifetime Wine Dinner” on March 15th, 2014, showcasing some of the world’s rarest wines ever produced.

The “Once-in-a-Lifetime Wine Dinner” includes all wine dinner activities, transportation to and from the airport via private eGlobal Media-ÃÇÁsedan as well as one night at the luxurious Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown with choice of breakfast or brunch the morning after the dinner.

With the assistance of Master Sommelier Emmanuel Kemiji, this exclusive tasting of 20 of the world’s top wines features selections from top growing regions around the world – virtually most of the featured wines are highly impossible to procure so this is an opportunity of a lifetime to taste all in one seating. At the conclusion of the tasting, guests opinions and feedback will be used to select what is considered to be truly the “Best Wine in the World.” The exclusive tasting will feature the following top wines:

  • Chateau Lafite-Rothschild
  • Chateau Petrus
  • Screaming Eagle
  • Domaine de La Romanee-Conti
  • Sassicaia
An afternoon of wine tastings will be followed by a dinner prepared by the hotel’s Executive Chef Jakob Esko, paired with many up and coming “cult favorite” wines, giving guests an opportunity to experience them before they become too hard to obtain.

Master Sommelier, Emmanuel Kemmiji is one of only thirteen American’s to pass the Master Sommelier exam in London and one of only seven to date to pass on his first attempt. From Spain originally, his career has taken him from the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel and San Francisco to making his own wine under the Miura label. He’s been awarded Sommelier of the Year in 1989 by the California Restaurant Writers Association, Wine Director of the Year in 1999 bySan Francisco Magazine, and was named one of the 10 ‘Winemakers to Watch’ in 2000 by the San Francisco Chronicle. In 2006, Emmanuel received the Wine Industry Achievement Award for exemplary commitment to community and charity work. Emmanuel oversees the quality of grapes from all vineyards David Family Wines works with and throughout the wine making process he ensures quality and consistency.
