German incoming tourism continues to grow dynamically. From January to April, the Federal Statistical Office recorded 23.1 million international overnight stays in hotels with at least ten beds, 4.8 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. 
“One million additional nights in four months – this is further proof of the successful positioning of Germany as a travel destination. Europe, the most important source region for German incoming, stands for stability with a solid growth of 3.6 percent. The Asian and American markets continue to grow at a rate of 6.5 and 8.2 percent respectively,” explains Petra Hedorfer, Chairwoman of the Board of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB).
Overseas Markets: Growth from Australia Australia maintains its strong position and has further grown by 3.5% over the first four month of 2018. The number of overnight stays has increased to 154,066 from Jan-Apr18.
