April 5, 2017 Cruise Deals No Comments Email Email

One of the biggest wet seasons in the Kimberley in a hundred years has created thundering waterfalls off the rugged escarpment.

Images below show King George Falls in normal flow and in current, flood flow following a summer, twice-in-a-century downpour which saw Broome receive a record 410mm of rain last December –  seven times the normal rainfall of 58mm. New swimming holes have also been formed on the King George River following the record rains.

For adventuer seekers who can be in the Kimberley on April 10, 2017,  low-cost cruise operator in the region, Ahoy Buccaneers, is  offering a $1000 per person discount on a 13-day cruise on its 25-guest motor yacht, Oceanic, along the spectacular Kimberley coast from Wyndham to Broome.  The cost of a deluxe beach swag under the stars during the 13-day cruise on April 10, 2017, has been cut from $4000 per person to $3000 per person.  The price also applies to solo travellers. Conditions apply.

Ahoy Buccaneer’s wet season expedition through the wild and remote islands of the Buccaneer and Bonaparte archipelagos will enable guests to experience the dramatic excitement of tropical, monsoon storms, beautiful sunsets and lightning shows, gushing waterfalls and lush scenery.

Ahoy Buccaneers offers travellers one of the most affordable ways to see the wild and unspoilt Kimberley. The company’s vessel, ‘Oceanic’, offers double bed and bunk cabins as well as the opportunity for passengers to sleep under the stars in deluxe swags in a mix of boat and beach locations each night. The 24m rigged vessel also boasts indoor and outdoor dining areas, two lounges and a deck spa.  Fresh and healthy cuisine is prepared by an onboard cook who regularly sources much of the menu from what is caught from the sea each day. The atmosphere onboard Oceanic is barefoot casual and friendly, with guests encouraged to help fish or sail the Oceanic.
