One Star House Party Announces Taipei Pop-Up Group Will Serve up A Taiwanese-Influenced Menu for Five Nights
One Star House Party will host a five night pop-up in Asian food haven, Taipei. Running from 14th to 18th June, the stellar team behind the internationally renowned series will serve up a locally influenced menu that represents their experience of Taiwan.
One Star House Party will pop up in Taipei, 14 – 18 June 2016.
The dynamic team, whose collective experience includes stints at Noma and The Ledbury, will spend a week exploring the diverse regions of Taiwan before executing a menu based on their travels. They will delve into all aspects of the country’s culinary scene, from iconic city street food to the lesser-known influences of the Dutch and Japanese on Taiwanese cuisine. The multi-course tasting menu will draw inspiration from areas including Tainan and southern Taiwan, where the group will forage for underrepresented ingredients to reinterpret in their unique style.
The pop-up’s one-of-a—kind venue transplants One Star House Party into a quirky diner setting in Tianmu. A buzzing central kitchen ensures all guests have front-row seats to the action, making for a totally immersive dining experience.
“Taiwan is known for it’s foodie roots and we are excited to take on the challenge of impressing an audience with such strong culinary knowledge. We’ll be working closely with local friends to cherry-pick the best ingredients from across the territory in order to curate a menu that reflects our immersion into Taiwanese food culture,” says James Sharman, former protégé of internationally acclaimed chef, Tom Aikens.
As per One Star House Party’s innovative restaurant model, the Taipei menu will be executed in Hong Kong in the week following their international pop-up in Taiwan.
