40 pints of blood were collected at One World Hotel’s blood donation drive in cooperation with the National Blood Bank recently. Led by Ms. Norazwa Binti Samsudin and a team of medical officers, the blood donation campaign was held at the hotel’s Sunflower and Lavender function room from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
The campaign saw good response from the public and hotel associates as they rolled up their sleeves to show their love and support in contributing towards a caring society. Many are keen to share the elixir of life but were unfortunately rejected due to various health circumstances.
One World Hotel Petaling Jaya has held the annual blood donation drive as part of its corporate social responsibility programme since its opening in 2007. “As a corporate entity, it is important that we support goals that matter to our society’’ said Chris Niuh, General Manager of the hotel.
Niuh also believes that more organisations and individuals should take part in future to increase the number of regular blood donors in the country. To quote “We hope this initiative will raise greater public awareness and encourage everyone to join this noble cause’’.
