The true mark of success is not just a measure of one’s wealth, but also how much of that wealth is given back to society…One World Hotel Petaling Jaya recently teamed up with local non-profit organization (NGO) Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) to reduce the burden of families living in poverty and bringing cheer the residents of the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) flats at Taman Putra Damai, Lembah Subang recently.
Despite the recent hot weather, a total of 18 associates from the hotel led by its Public Relations Manager, Feryal Mufti beat the heat and packed the food on the scene. A total of 185 packets made up of Chinese Fried Rice, Stir Fried Tiger Prawns with Mala Sauce, Crispy Fish with Medan Sauce, Fried Spiced Chicken, Loh Hon Rolls with Vegetables, dessert and water bottles were distributed.
“We are committed to continuously organising such events in the future as they not only allow us to provide a helping hand to the communities, but also encourage volunteerism and teamwork among our team members. Despite the challenging times, we will continue our efforts so that the less privileged will not be neglected,” said Mufti.
The two-hour event, held from 4.00pm to 6.00pm ended with a group photography session. Aside from the overwhelming satisfaction, the team of volunteers went home feeling grateful and blessed.
Kechara Soup Kitchen operated since 2008.
