ONYX Hospitality Group promotes Duncan Webb to Chief Commercial Officer

Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group recently announced the promotion of one of its key executives. Duncan Webb, who has worked for the company for 22 years, has been promoted to Chief Commercial Officer.

E3F0D9E660BDBB4788BC093E023C5C7E1During his tenure with the group, Duncan has held a number of senior positions including Director of Sales, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Brand & Communications Officer.

Duncan has made a large contribution to ONYX during his term. In his most recent role as Brand & Communications officer, he was responsible for the creative concept and brand development of the group’s four brands. He was the driving force behind the creation of new select service brand, OZO which has its first operational property in Hong Kong and another six projects in the pipeline. Duncan was also responsible for the revitalisation of the Amari brand. The company has evolved considerably since Duncan joined more than 20 years ago and he has been there every step of the way, helping the company grow from six properties in Thailand when he joined in 1990 to becoming a multi-branded international hospitality group with 33 properties in 2013.

Commenting on his new role, Duncan said:

“I am looking forward to this challenging new role, whereby I will be leading a team of highly accomplished and experienced individuals, all experts in their field. The corporate restructure has been introduced so that all our commercial functions are more aligned, allowing an increased level of coordination and strategic consultation, so we can all work together to drive revenue, maximise profit and support the company’s growth plan. ”

In his new role, Duncan is responsible for sales and marketing, revenue management, e-commerce, communications, customer information systems and brand. He has been promoted to oversee the commercial functions of the organisation in order to consolidate departments, offer strategic consultation and drive top line revenue.
