Calling spellcheck. Cathay Pacific needs you. The Hong Kong-based airline accidently let one of its new planes take to the air with the spelling error “Cathay Paciic” painted on its side.

In one of history’s biggest typos, the ‘F’ is missing from Pacific.

Jokers had a field day on Twitter. “No one gives a F anymore, not even the painters!” one person posted.

The airline took it in good humour.

“Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!”

The plane is a brand new Boeing 777-367. According to FlightRadar24 it flew from Xiamen (XMN) to Hong Kong (HKG), operating flight CX3395.

Travellers at Hong Kong International Airport spotted the sign-writer’s mistake immediately and contacted the airline, according to the South China Morning Post.

“Cathay Paciic” was hauled straight back into the paint shop
