The world’s most romantic day is almost upon us and to celebrate OpenTable is sharing the love and showcasing new insights into its most popular dining night out. With this Sunday designated ‘ValenDine’s Day’ by OpenTable, this weekend is the perfect time to make your Valentine’s reservations.

According to the global leader for online restaurant reservations, this Sunday (4th February) is the perfect night to lock in your reservation for one of the busiest dining nights of the year, with the average diner in 2017 booking 10 days in advance for Valentine’s Day.

Last year OpenTable saw a 20% lift in covers on Valentine’s Day in Australia compared to its average equivalent night of the week in February. While Italian, Modern Australian, Japanese and Asian cuisines were the cuisines of choice.

Comparing the habit of its global diners on Valentine’s Day, OpenTable has found that Aussies are eager to make the most of the evening with 6:30pm being the most popular dining time down under (compared to 7pm in Canada, Germany, Japan and the US, as well as 7:30pm in the UK).
