Orbitz signs technology agreement with Sabre

Leading online travel company Orbitz Worldwide has selected global technology company Sabre as one of its technology providers to power and its other North American family of brands including CheapTickets, Orbitz Partner Network and Orbitz for Business.

The multi-year agreement will see Sabre provide technology and travel management services beginning in 2015 that Orbitz will use to increase its online conversion performance and revenue, and enhance the customer experience.

Orbitz Worldwide Chief Operating Officer Chris Orton said: “Sabre brings global leadership, scale and the latest technology that we will incorporate into our wide choice of consumer offerings to book the perfect trip.  As more and more of our customers move to tablets and mobile devices we want to continually streamline that experience with new technology.”

Travel Network is our global business-to-business travel marketplace and consists primarily of our global distribution system (GDS) and a broad set of solutions that integrate with the GDS.

The marketplace includes a mobile-enabled platform for travel buyers to shop, price, book and pay for travel.  In addition, Sabre provides data-rich solutions that give travel buyers and suppliers unique insights into their operations as well as customer shopping and booking trends.
