Millennium and Copthorne Hotels (M&C) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Ong as General Manager, Orchard Hotel Singapore.
With over 30 years of local and international hospitality experience, Mr Ong will assume responsibility for Orchard Hotel’s business operations and ensure continued success at the 5-star hotel, located in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s iconic shopping belt.
The 656-room Orchard Hotel is home to famous and celebrated Chinese restaurant Hua Ting and Orchard Café, along with other established food and beverage dining options.
Mr Ong joined M&C last year in a newly created position of General Manager, Operations, Asia where he focused on driving and optimising operational excellence, improving cost efficiency, and enhancing guest satisfaction for the Group’s regional hotels.
During the course of his career, Mr Ong has held several key leadership roles in Singapore, US, Cambodia, Australia, China and Japan with major hotel companies. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge covering Operations, Sales & Marketing, F&B, hotel renovations and pre-opening of hotels.

Commenting on his new assignment, Singapore-born Richard Ong who is bilingual in Mandarin and English remarked, “I am very honoured and delighted to be helming the Group’s largest hotel in Singapore.
