The upgraded and expanded office offers a single, convenient location where O’Hare airport employees can get fingerprinted and receive all required training and testing to obtain or re-new an airport badge, as well as address compliance and access control issues.

At 16,000-square-feet, the new facility is more than five times the size the previous badging office in O’Hare Terminal 1. The new additional space and color coded interior design creates a more streamlined and efficient airport ID badging process for about 40,000 employees who visit the center at least once every year. Approximately 50 employees work at the office, including CDA staff and contracted personnel.

Today, the CDA hosted an open house at the new office located in Terminal 3 – Pedestrian Level Tunnel, between Elevator Centers 5 and 6, where O’Hare tenants and signatories had an opportunity to see the office’s public space as well as its inner workings. The open house was held during the office’s regularly scheduled closure period, which is after 11 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.

As with all new facilities built at Chicago’s airports, the office was planned, designed and constructed in accordance with the CDA Sustainable Airport Manual. Some of the sustainability highlights include the use of recycled materials and locally manufactured products during construction; an advanced lighting control system to save energy; low emitting adhesives/sealants, paints/coatings and flooring systems to improve indoor air quality and comfort for occupants; and a water bottle refill station that encourages refilling water containers instead of discarding them after a single use.

ID Badging Office Hours:

The ID Badging Office will continue to be open five days a week, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The ID Badging Office closes at 11:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
