Ord Valley FEASTIVAL, new events, full program on sale

Three new events and a return of the Muster Multipass ticket have just been announced for the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster held in Kununurra and surrounds from 11 to 20 May 2018.

Cooking demonstrations by MKR’s Jordan Bruno and his mum Anna along with local talent are included in the Ord Valley FEASTIVAL presented by Kununurra Country Club Resort held at the Muster Festival Hub on Wednesday 16 May 2018.

Mr Bruno said he was thrilled to get a call back to the Ord Valley Muster this year.

“Last year I had the most magical time at the Muster, I can’t even describe it, it was just so special – the land, the country, the people, the produce and the event – all of it. I’m so happy to be going back and to be bringing my beautiful mum Anna with me,” said Mr Bruno, the newly crowned Mr Gay Pride Australia.

Ord Valley Events Chair Narelle Brook said that FEASTIVAL was an exciting new addition to the event calendar.

“FEASTIVAL is a celebration and showcase of West Australian produce and people with a special focus on locally grown produce from the Ord Valley,” Ms Brook said.

“FEASTIVAL is designed to expand on the food conversations started by the Kimberley Kitchen in previous years and include talks by local farmers and producers, butchery demonstrations, tastings and more.”

With an A to Z of knowledge of the local produce from the region’s massive food bowl at the Muster’s very own Producers Village, FEASTIVAL includes wine tastings by Happs iSeries wines and locally made Hoochery Distillery Rum, ‘super food’ courtesy of The Chia Co., bush cooking as well as demonstrations by local chefs including Kununurra Country Club head chef Stephen Bhana and a ‘how to’ by local butcher Murray Salter and chef Rick Dyson. Event goers can get their questions answered in a Q&A with local farmers and producers.

Tickets to FEASTIVAL are on sale now for $73*, or purchase a Muster Multipass for $203.85* that also includes a night of belly laughs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow (14 or 15 May 2018) and general admission to the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience on Saturday 19 May 2018, saving $45.

The Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience on Saturday 19 May 2018 on the banks of the Ord River in Kununurra in Western Australia’s north-east is the region’s biggest party.

The black-tie Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner, a separate ticketed area at the Kimberley Moon Experience, is the Kimberley’s most prestigious and lavish annual event attracting 600 patrons each year.

Two other new events announced are included in this year’s Muster line up.

The Muster’s inaugural Ringers Western Great Endurance Horse Race in Wyndham on Sunday 13 May 2018 is a series of horse races that includes kids entertainment, mechanical bull, music and more. The main event is the 30-kilometre endurance race that starts at the racetrack and continues on the salt marsh, ending back on the racetrack. Action starts from 12-noon and bus transfers are available.

For the first time, El Questro’s Longest Dinner at Emma Gorge on Monday 14 May 2018 joins the Ord Valley Muster calendar of events. As the sun sinks behind the Cockburn Ranges and the stars being to twinkle, guests will enjoy an unforgettable night of locally sourced fine dining matched with live music by Dan Sultan in the magical surrounds of El Questro’s Emma Gorge. Tickets include canapés, a three-course menu and unlimited wine and beer for $350 per person. Travel packages are also available; contact Kununurra Visitor Centre (08) 9168 1177 or

The multi-award winning Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster line up includes 30 events across 10 exciting days.

The full calendar of events is out now and on sale including the incredibly popular Kununurra Rodeo, Tree of Life Painting workshop, Authentic Aboriginal Tours, Argyle Diamond Dig, Wilds Walks and much more.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Ord Valley, Lake Kununurra, spectacular fresh water gorges, national parks and stunning reserves, the Muster rewards visitors with magical and distinctive experiences.

The host town Kununurra is situated 800 kilometres from Darwin and more than 3,000 kilometres north of Perth.

Travel packages start from $405 per person for land-only, and comprehensive packages including flights, accommodation, transfers, event tickets and tour options start from $960 per person.
