Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. (NYSE; OEH, (the “Company”) today confirmed the election of eight directors to its Board of Directors at the Company’s 2013 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, including a new independent director, Roland Hernandez, who was also named Chairman of the Board.

Incumbent directors re-elected are Harsha V. Agadi, John D. Campbell, Mitchell C. Hochberg, Ruth Kennedy, Prudence M. Leith, Georg R. Rafael and John M. Scott. Following his election as director, Roland Hernandez was appointed Chairman by the Board of Directors. The addition of Mr. Hernandez underscores the Company’s ongoing process of renewal of its Board of Directors, with four of eight directors having joined the Board in the past two years, and follows John Scott’s appointment as President & Chief Executive Officer in November 2012.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Hernandez said, “It is an honor to have been named Chairman of Orient-Express Hotels during such an exciting time of growth for the company. We have a strong foundation of unique assets and I am looking forward to working with my fellow directors to provide strategic counsel to John and his team as they execute on their long-term strategy to deliver value for investors.”

Mr. Hernandez is a highly successful media and entertainment executive with broad public company board experience including in the hospitality industry, where he has served as the lead director of MGM Resorts International and Vail Resorts. He has been the Founding Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Hernandez Media Ventures since 2001, and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Telemundo Group, Inc. from 1995 to 2000. Mr. Hernandez currently serves on the Board of Directors for MGM Resorts International, Vail Resorts, Inc., and U.S. Bancorp, and recently stepped down from the Board of Sony Corporation.

As previously announced, the Company’s outgoing Chairman, J. Robert Lovejoy, and Board member, Philip R. Mengel, both retired from the Board following the 2013 AGM. The Board expressed their gratitude to both gentlemen for their dedicated service and contribution to the Company’s successful evolution, both as directors and as interim CEOs.

The reappointment of Deloitte LLC as the Company’s independent auditors was also approved by shareholders at the AGM.
