Brisbane’s newest hotel – Rydges Fortitude Valley – has quickly established its place as regional Queensland’s home in the city, with the luxury accommodation provider experiencing strong demand for room bookings during a range of recent major events and festivals held in the district.

Ideally situated within the historical Brisbane Showgrounds precinct and opposite the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC), the hotel is on track to become the area’s preferred accommodation provider, recording outstanding occupancy rates during the 2016 Royal Queensland Show in August, with growth forecast to continue on the back of a full schedule of public events planned for the remainder of 2016 and through 2017.

“We were thrilled to be able to provide convenient and trendy accommodation to our guests, who came from all over regional Queensland and appreciated the rural theming and country charm of our hotel, where all staff are committed to providing our customers with a superior level of customer service,” Mr. Hurley said.

“We received fantastic feedback throughout the Ekka, not only from guests who had booked room nights with us, but also from the many visitors who discovered the hotel for the first time, enjoying the wonderful food and beverages and relaxed show-side atmosphere on offer at The Paddock Bar and Six Acres Restaurant.”

Rydges Fortitude Valley also impressed guests and experienced strong occupancy rates during several other recent events held at the showgrounds, including the 2016 Queensland Caravan and Camping Show in June, and is expecting high demand for rooms during upcoming events, including Oktoberfest, which is forecast to attract 35,000 attendees over two weekends in October.

“The Showgrounds precinct attracts a wide range of events and conferences throughout the year, which certainly adds to the profile of the district as one of Brisbane’s most eclectic and colourful locations, as well as driving increased business to the hotel as we strive to offer a unrivalled level of service and comfort for our guests,” Mr. Hurley said.

Officially launched in April, Rydges Fortitude Valley is the newest addition to the esteemed international Rydges Hotels and Resorts group, offering stylish and contemporary accommodation while paying homage to its tradition-steeped location.

The hotel has already turned heads within the industry, being awarded fourth in the Star Ratings Australia Gold List of Australian accommodation and named as a finalist in the New Hotel category of the 2016 HM Awards.

Mr. Hurley said the hotel would meet the future needs of the evolving lifestyle destination, which is currently undergoing a $2.9 billion major redevelopment by RNA and Lendlease.

Already an icon of the district’s exciting revitalisation, the hotel is situated along Brisbane’s newest and most vibrant café and retail strip of King Street, and on the fringe of the city’s renowned entertainment quarter of “the Valley”, with its eclectic mix of shopping, bars and restaurants.

Rydges Fortitude Valley embodies an aesthetic of urban chic with an equal focus on comfort and is located in the heart of Bowen Hills, where crowds have gathered since 1875 to celebrate the Royal Queensland Show.

The hotel’s opening formed part of the second stage of the RNA’s Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project, which is expected to deliver $300 million annually in economic benefits to the state, while creating more than 2,000 jobs.

Recent development within the King Street precinct has also seen the opening of new restaurant offerings, including The George and Fat Dumpling.

Rydges Fortitude Valley is situated just minutes from Brisbane CBD, with the vibrant hubs of Chinatown, Newstead and New Farm all within walking distance, while convenient travel options exist for guests wishing to explore famed destinations including Queen Street, the Story Bridge, Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba.

The hotel also targets business travellers, offering three flexible meeting rooms, and is ideally situated across from RICC, which boasts indoor and outdoor facilities including a main arena with grandstands capable of accommodating up to 18,000 people.

The site also boasts a fully equipped gymnasium and heated outdoor pool.

Free WIFI is available for all Rydges guests, while all guest rooms and suites feature a mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, individually controlled air conditioning and more.
