Over 40cms of fresh snow has fallen up top of Thredbo Resort in the last 24hrs, with plenty more on the way! We saw snow start to fall yesterday and it didn’t ease up, with around 5-10cms of snow settling down in village. Totals for this week are predicted to reach 60cm.
These cold temperatures have been perfect for snowmaking as well, with 105 guns firing up overnight, giving Mother Nature that extra helping hand.
Thanks to this fresh snow and wintery conditions, the Cruiser Area and High Noon are expected to make their seasonal debut on Saturday. With high speed quad chairlifts and the longest runs in Australia, Thredbo is the perfect place for intermediates or the more advanced getting their snow legs back. The beginners will have Friday Flat to learn the basics, while the Snow Play area in the Village is there for some family winter fun.
With more snow expected throughout the day, and optimal snowmaking conditions in the forecast, we will start to see a lot more skiable terrain opening across the resort.
Winter is well and truly here, and it’s going to be perfect conditions this weekend, and for the upcoming school holidays.
