“The popularity of Destination Germany with international visitors ensures continued growth for incoming tourism. The fantastic sunny weather we saw this summer inspired many to visit Germany – overnight figures for August this year were 7% more than the previous year. Figures for the first eight months of the year show a growth of 4% in international overnight bookings, which for us is incredibly positive,” says Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB).
