Fancy yourself as the next big disrupter? Want to take that blue sky thinking to another level? Ovolo Hotels has launched Mojo Nomad, an initiative offering an all-inclusive live-in co-working space environment designed to give up-and-coming entrepreneurs everything needed to realise their business ventures. In addition, the Global Nomad Search competition is calling on budding entrepreneurs for the chance to win the ultimate opportunity in Hong Kong as part of the coveted Mojo Nomad project.
Conceived by the founder of Ovolo Hotels and global hospitality entrepreneur, Mr Girish Jhunjhnuwala, Mojo Nomad brings the region’s best thinkers together, combining high-energy inspiration with fun-filled networking and social events at Ovolo’s award-winning hotels across Sydney and Hong Kong. And with all the best young minds living, working and playing in select Ovolo hotels, Mojo Nomad is the perfect place to network with likeminded pioneers and fuel your creative passion.
Enabling budding entrepreneurs to focus on getting their business empires off the ground, the program offers all-inclusive daily, weekly and monthly rates at Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour and Ovolo Woolloomooloo. Entrepreneurs are provided unlimited access to free daily breakfast, super speed Wi-Fi, high bandwidth internet, 24 hour gym, self-laundry, all day snacks, drinks and coffee as well as communal work spaces. Ovolo takes the meaning of hospitality to the next level by arranging regular networking events and exclusive parties for Nomads to share, where they can learn and collaborate on their start-ups, creating the ultimate environment of inspiration and experimentation for one’s business success.
To celebrate the launch of this project, Ovolo Hotels is holding The Global Mojo Nomad Search competition, with the prize including an all-inclusive month-long living and workspace environment in Hong Kong, flights, accommodation and one-on-one mentoring with Mr Jhunjhnuwala. Simultaneously, one lucky entrepreneur from Hong Kong will also win the same experience, travelling down to Sydney for a one-month residency. To enter, you must be an entrepreneur and founder of a business or the brains behind an idea that has disrupted a gap in today’s market. You have to be able to demonstrate your ability to transform that creative vision into a tangible business model and be able to bravely explore new, uncharted markets.
From November 19, entrants will need to upload a 60-second video outlining their business idea. After the competition closes on 28 February 2016, the best ten will be chosen to personally pitch their idea to Ovolo’s senior management, as well as their reasons for wanting to base themselves in Hong Kong for a month.
The winner will encompass Ovolo’s values of being a young at heart, business savvy limitless thinker and a risk taker, who lives life to the fullest.
Mr Jhunjhnuwala commented: “When you think about the global success of some of the biggest brands in the last decade, what’s one thing most have in common? They were started in a college dorm or the family garage. These environments, where ones’ eating, sleeping and working aspects are taken care of by others, fuels entrepreneurism. It’s where my inspiration for Mojo Nomad began. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges one can face when starting a business. Where and how you live shouldn’t be a part of that.
“Entrepreneurs are a rare breed. They’re a group of creative, young-at-heart, business-savvy professionals who embody the kind of guests we welcome to Ovolo every day. Whether they stay for 24 hours or even a year, they can rest assured Ovolo has life covered, so they can build on their company’s success.”
So what are you waiting for? Your idea isn’t going to make itself happen. But with Mojo Nomad, it’s bound to happen a whole lot sooner!
