Oxford’s Bay Harbor Hotel Completes Phase One of Multi-Million Dollar Repositioning

Bay Harbor Hotel has completed the first phase of a multi-million dollar transformation. Oxford Capital Group, LLC, through its management affiliate, Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC, acquired the property in 2015 to reinvent the property as a coastal-chic lifestyle hotel & resort, and selected global design firm The Gettys Group to achieve the vision.

Fifteen additional guestrooms were added, with hardwood floors, contemporary furnishings, frameless walk-in showers and backlit LED mirrors.

A sense of tranquility is achieved in the new lobby with luxurious, yet laid-back finishes and furnishings including Italian tile, coastal lounge furniture and nautical accents.

Beach Bar | Restaurant, Bay Harbor Hotel’s indoor/outdoor waterside restaurant is unrecognizable as the former “Hogan’s Beach”. Gone are bright red and yellow replaced with relaxed island-style spaces in calming hues that conjure sensations of Key West, but with the urban sophistication that is the hallmark of Oxford Hotels & Resorts.

Capitalizing on its waterfront views, and a 3200 sq. ft. pier, the hotel’s exterior improvements include new lounge seating, surrounding fireplaces, sumptuous cabanas, poolside furniture, hardscapes, cable rail balconies, and a soft-blue building façade.

“As a longtime resident of Tampa, I have known this property for years and feel privileged to be part of its transformation,” said Crystal Rivera, General Manager. “I’ve always had an appreciation for the beauty of the hotels along South Beach and am thrilled to bring that magic into Bay Harbor Hotel in Tampa.”
