A striking photo of a woman paddleboarding with her dog past P&O’s Pacific Dawn has been included in a stunning online gallery of the best Australian photos of 2015, viewable below.
Pacific Dawn was in Sydney Harbour on 25 November 2015 when the photo was taken by photographer Brendon Thorne.
It made the final cut in a selection of the best Australian photos of 2015, compiled by Guardian Australia.
Some photos are confronting, some are challenging, some are funny, some are beautiful.
“We’ve received more than a quarter of a million photographs relating to Australia over the past 12 months – and we’ve shot and seen plenty more on our travels,” said Jonny Weeks, writer, photographer and picture editor of Guardian Australia.
About 60 photos – some of the most memorable, newsworthy, creative and talked-about images from professional and amateur photographers alike during 2015 – made the final selection.
The Pacific Dawn shot is second from the end, if you’re in a hurry.
