Boutique hotel and resort management company, Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG), has excelled at the 2016 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards picking up two major wins on the night including the ‘Environment Award’ and ‘Hotels and Resorts Award’.
Both accolades are a testament to PRHG executing their vision statement; “To be leaders among Pacific Island accommodation providers by managing our business in a way that demonstrates our commitment to environmental protection, sustainability and stewardship while meeting the expectations of our visitors and The Cook Islands people.”
The ‘ANZ Bank – Environment Award’ won by Pacific Resort Rarotonga exemplifies its goal for maintaining a high level of proactivity in their environmental and sustainable business practices within the hotel industry; while Pacific Resort Aitutaki taking out the ‘Bank of South Pacific – Hotel & Resorts Award’ illustrates the 5-star property’s commitment to exceeding guest expectations at every opportunity.
The Awards are created to stimulate business development while honouring excellence throughout the tourism industry in the Cook Islands. Innovation was the core attribute of this year’s theme, with the judging process based on the review of a written submission, followed up by an inspection and audit of each property or business.
Air New Zealand is the presenting partner and primary sponsor of the annual awards and gala dinner, now celebrating its eighth year. They have proven to be a loyal partner and have served the Cook Islands for over 40 years.
The event was held at the Cook Islands National Auditorium in Rarotonga on Friday 15th of April and is the most prestigious tourism recognition programme currently held in the Cook Islands.
