Panache Of Grenache, Discreet Charm Of Chardonnay: Indigo Pearl Presents The Barton & Guestier Wine Dinner At Rivet

Phuket’s most unique luxury resort is proud to introduce one of the pearls of the wine world at an exclusive and intimate evening of fine wines, bold cuisine, appreciation and conversation at Rivet restaurant, Indigo Pearl at 7pm, Friday, October 23rd.

The Barton & Guestier Wine Dinner at Rivet features an oenophile’s tour of two of France’s most famous wine regions, with the oldest wine merchant in Bordeaux pouring excellent vintages from the Burgundy and Rhone Valley regions, presented by the company’s Southeast Asia area sales manager and wine connoisseur Victoire Desvigne.

The evening begins with a pre-dinner reception and canapes at Rebar. Guests will then descend into the surreal elegance and industrial chic of Rivet, where they will be ensconced in the buttery leather of the restaurant’s custom-made seating booths and plied with fine wines paired with the bold, innovative and contemporary cuisine of Indigo Pearl’s executive sous chef Fabrizio Crocetta

Chef Fabrizio’s Mediterranean culinary influences and his own unique philosophy of the essence of flavours is fused with the artistic design sensibilities of Indigo Pearl. Rivet is known on Phuket for its excellent selection of New World wines. But for one special night, the Old World reigns and France enjoys the spotlight.

Early Reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment — just 30 seats are available at what will be one of the most exclusive and high quality wine dinners ever hosted on Phuket.

Established in 1725, Barton & Guestier is also the proprietor of Chateau Magnol, a fantastic vineyard at the gate of the prestigious Medoc, home to the Grand Crus of Chateaux Latour, Lafite, Mouton Rothschild and Margaux, offering accommodations and a leading wine school.

Chateau Magnol conceals the private cellars of founder Thomas Barton and also of Germain Rambaud, the company’s first cellar master, featuring an extraordinary collection of more than 20,000 bottles.

The dinner will feature two starters, two main courses and one dessert, to be paired with these Barton & Guestier selections:

From the Burgundy Region, renowned for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noire

Macon-Villages Chardonnay 2012 – nice bouquet of exotic fruits and fresh flowers; rich and lively wine with a long finish; delicate and creamy

Pouilly-Fuisse Chardonnay 2013 – intense bouquet of toast and vanilla; a rich and powerful wine

From the Rhone Valley, home of Grenache and Syrah varieties:

Cotes-du-Rhone Syrah Grenache 2012 – delightful aromas of cherry, redcurrant and spices; rich and long-lasting spicy finish

Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2012 – intense aromas of cocoa, plums and black cherries; powerful, rich and spicy aromatic wine
