Nanyang style dishes and traditional Chinese cooking are closely related but little do Hong Kongers know the origin and history. Paradise Inn, ready to open its doors on 16th November 2015 at Olympian City, will unveil the mystery behind Nanyang culinary wonders. A sequel to Paradise Dynasty, Paradise Group extends its global footprint by opening Paradise Inn in Hong Kong, an addition to the Group’s number of overseas outlets. Traditional Chinese cooking methods are executed with innovative touches to create the unique Nanyang style dishes, re-interpreting the nostalgic flavors of the good old days. The homely taste of expertly crafted Chinese cuisine with a Nanyang twist is set to impress even the most discerning taste buds.
“When there is sea, there is Chinese.” The story of the Chinese venturing across oceans to distant lands goes way back in history. Before 18thCentury, many have travelled to the Nanyang region for trade, including the Malay Archipelago, Singapore, the Indonesia Archipelago and Thailand. Others left their homeland in Fujian, Chaozhou, Guangdong, Shanghai and Hainan, and migrated to Southeast Asia to escape from political instability. They brought along culinary traditions, which are then matched with ingredients and cooking styles commonly found in Nanyang, for a unique blend of home-cooked Chinese fare infused with local influences.

While travelling, inns were lodges in the journey, similar to a resting place away from home where friends stop by to savor good food and chat over a pot of tea. Paradise Group replicates the idea of a Chinese inn for a restaurant, where Nanyang style Chinese cuisine is served with good tea and desserts, allowing customers to have a complete experience of stepping back in time.
Since Singapore-based Paradise Group launched Paradise Dynasty in Hong Kong in May 2014, the restaurant has been a popular dining place with its signature eight flavored xiao long baos, generating buzz in town. Scheduled to celebrate its opening in November at Olympian City, Paradise Inn in Hong Kong will be the brand’s third overseas branch after Malaysia and Indonesia.
