Fraser Tong joins tourism business development specialists, Parker Travel Collection this week after the departure of Pru Wilson who left the organisation to pursue a career in photography.

imgParker Travel Collection’s Managing Director, Todd Parker said his team was delighted to welcome Fraser on board and particularly fortunate in securing someone with such a strong background in tourism sales.

“Fraser has a Bachelor of Tourism from Victoria University, Wellington and has been involved in in both domestic and international tourism marketing for the past seven years,” said Mr Parker.

Fraser’s key employment history includes:

  • Wellington Visitor Centre (Travel Agent)
  • James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, Wellington (Conference Sales Manager)
  • Tourism Holding Limited (Account Manager VIC/WA/SA/TAS)

According to Fraser, having a degree in tourism and starting off as a travel agent has proved a great way to learn the ropes of the tourism industry before developing skills and creating contacts in the MICE sector.

“Coupled with his  sales background and experience across a broad area of the industry Fraser will be primarily responsible for managing our Domestic Retail Campaigns and also developing some inbound and online business.

“PTC will continue to focus on the domestic business with the Aussie dollar dropping and a number of other economic and social conditions hopefully making domestic holidays more attractive to consumers in the foreseeable future,” said Mr Parker.

Fraser will be based in Melbourne and work alongside fellow Parker Travel Collection Director, Brock Parker.
