Pekka Vähähyyppä (M. Sc. Econ, eMBA) has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board at Finnair. He succeeds Erno Hildén, who leaves Finnair on 30 April 2015.
Pekka Vähähyyppä currently serves as CFO of Stockmann Group, where he has worked since 2000. Prior to that, he held leadership positions in financial management in Nestlé’s Nordic subsidiaries, in OKO-Venture Capital and in A-lehdet Group, among others.
“Pekka Vähähyyppä has a long and versatile experience from several consumer industries and the retail business. In his previous roles he has gained strong competencies in different areas of financial management, change management and corporate restructuring,” says Pekka Vauramo, Finnair CEO. “We wish him a warm welcome to Finnair and to our Executive Board. We believe Pekka’s consumer market understanding will be a great complement to our team.”
Vähähyyppä starts in his new role at Finnair on 17 August 2015. Mika Stirkkinen, Vice President, Finance, acts as interim CFO until then.
