Singapore has experienced an expansion and transformation of tourism attractions over the last five years. To showcase this rapidly changing and vibrant city, Singapore Airlines together with Singapore Tourism Board recently invited a contingent of Victorian based travel agents to experience the airline’s Singapore Stopover Holidays programme.
Showcasing Singapore as a destination and the value the Singapore Stopover Holidays programme offers clients, TravelManagers’ personal travel managers Luke Vaughan, representative for Kooyong and Sylvia Holland, representative for Mount Eliza recently enjoyed their five-night Singapore stopover experience.
“The city has managed to successfully shake off its sterile reputation it’s had for so long. It was so wonderful to see the vibrant mix of cultures evidenced by its amazing array of architecture, streetscapes and of course delicious cuisine,” says Vaughan.
Holland was impressed by Singapore’s keen eye for tourism infrastructure.

“Each time I visit Singapore there are new places and attractions to experience. I would happily recommend Singapore easily as a destination in its own right, but equally it is the perfect place to break the journey to or from UK and Europe. If you’re going to attempt to beat jetlag, you may as well do it in an exciting location!”
Vaughan was impressed by the exceptional value the Singapore Stopover Holidays programme offers.
“It’s an absolutely brilliant program allowing clients to stopover and take advantage of city attractions at heavily discounted prices. The packages include discounted accommodation and airport transfers, but what’s incredible is the huge list of attractions that can be visited free as part of your stopover pass. These include Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer and the Singapore Zoo. It’s all in one easy to sell package too.”
As well as experiencing the many varied activities that Singapore offers, the group also enjoyed site visits at many of Singapore’s popular hotels.
Singapore is blessed with so much luxurious accommodation yet it was the newly renovated four star Hotel Jen Tanglin that really wowed the group.
“Formally known as The Traders, this property has experienced an extensive 45 million Singapore dollar makeover. It certainly is impressive! The hotel has very carefully considered all design aspects and aims to utilise local products and artists. I just loved the graffiti crew who painted the wall, which is located in the hotel bar. They also provide guests with an authentic yet relaxed Singapore experience and I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Jen Tanglin to my clients,” says Vaughan.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager Michael Gazal supports supplier famils.
“There is nothing like experiencing it for yourself. Famils are a great way for personal travel managers to improve their knowledge of the destination. The ability for personal travel managers to share with clients their extensive personal travel experience and product knowledge gained from the famil is an absolute priority – clients like to know you have sampled the local cuisine, taken the local transport and lived to tell the tale! It all adds to the trust and personal service that our TravelManagers’ clients come to love and expect.”
Singapore Airlines Group flies from eight Australian gateway cities directly to Singapore and continues to provide a well-established and popular stopover destination en route to UK, Europe and Asia.
