Personal Travel Manager’s Focus on Service Excellence a Winning Formula OR Personal Travel Manager Scoops Industry Award for Second Consecutive Year
On Saturday night, the travel industry descended on Darling Harbour Convention Wharf’s Dockside Pavilion to celebrate its brightest and best at the annual National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) awards ceremony.
Held by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA), the awards ceremony recognises the best in the industry across 37 categories ranging from best retail travel consultant to best national travel management company.
The glittering black tie gala dinner was this year attended by more than 1,200 travel industry guests, among them TravelManagers’ representative for Haberfield, NSW, Ric Pattaro, who took home the award for “Best Travel Consultant – Corporate” for the second year running.
TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal is thrilled with Pattaro’s achievement on Saturday night.
Winner “Best Consultant – Corporate” Ric Pattaro and his wife Angela celebrating a second year as Australia’s top corporate travel consultant
“This is the third consecutive year that Ric has been nominated as best corporate travel consultant, and the second year in a row that he has won – it really is the best possible recognition for his hard work and determination to deliver the very highest standard of service to his clients.”
The award is made all the more remarkable by the fact that Pattaro only started his business in 2008, without a single client on his books.
“I have always believed in taking ownership of my clients’ travel arrangements as though they were my own. Being accessible for my clients at any time of the day or night and providing personal attention to every detail has enabled me to build a strong client base. This award is great recognition that I’m doing it right, but even without the awards, I wouldn’t run my business any other way.”
Gazal agrees that Pattaro’s attention to detail and focus on excellent service is a winning formula, and he says it’s an attitude that is reflected across the TravelManagers business with great success, with the group also nominated for an award as “Best Travel Agency Retail – Single Location.”
“Ric’s repeat triumph at the NTIA awards demonstrates the growing dominance of the home-based travel consulting segment and acclaims TravelManagers as a leader, not just in the rapidly growing home-based consulting segment, but across the entire travel industry.”
Pattaro’s fellow personal travel managers (PTMs) have been quick to applaud his success, posting messages of congratulations on their group Facebook page with the hashtag, “#legend”. Gazal says this reflects the strong culture of support and cooperation that exists between the PTMs.
“We are proud of the strong family culture we have created within TravelManagers, so when one of our own receives industry recognition like Ric did on Saturday night, the entire company is genuinely thrilled for them.”
