Incredibly positive client feedback and growing cruise sales provided the impetus for a group of entrepreneurial Sydney based personal travel managers to host a second VIP client cruise event recently.

Personal travel managers Cathy Moir, representative for Gymea Bay and Julianne Gazal-Rizk, representative for Willoughby this time joined original event organizers Sue Kuti representative for Randwick, Michelle Michael-Pecora representative for Castle Hill, Lyn Tyson representative for Pymble, Alma Araullo representative for Peakhurst and Teresa Reyes representative for Illawong who collectively hosted the invite only client cruise event on Sydney Harbour.

“The client feedback from our inaugural event was overwhelmingly positive resulting in many on the day bookings as well as an increase in cruise quotes stimulated by our proactive approach so we knew we had the formula right. By working with more personal travel managers for this event we achieved an increase in client participation by 47%,” says Michael-Pecora.

One hundred and fifteen engaged and cruise friendly clients enjoyed lunch and an afternoon aboard Caption Cook Cruises vessel ‘Sydney 2000’ as she sailed around Sydney Harbour. Six partner cruise suppliers being Captain Cook Cruises, APT River Cruising, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Holland America Line and Azamara Club Cruises were invited to give 20-minute client presentations.

“We recognise the opportunity for our clients to meet and talk face to face with key cruise line representatives is invaluable so were delighted to offer our clients such a broad and varied line up of cruising options. There really was something for everyone,” says Kuti.

Whilst some may consider working in close proximity to each other as being competitive territory, it is completely the opposite philosophy for the Sydney based personal travel managers, who are representative of how TravelManagers’ personal travel managers across Australia interact.

“Our philosophy is to support each other and we find working together is far more productive than working against each other. After the success of our first cruise event, it was logical to work with other personal travel managers to grow the event by sharing ideas and achieving mutual success,” says Tyson.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal attributes the companies growing cruise sales in part, to the proactive and innovative thinking of its personal travel managers.

“We wholeheartedly support the entrepreneurial spirit of these personal travel managers. It’s this collective participation and working together to create mutual success which reflects the TravelManagers philosophy and is what sets us apart from our competition,” he says.

TravelManagers recognise the need for ongoing cruise education, with all participating personal travel managers being a member of CruiseManagers, TravelManagers’ specialist cruise division.

“TravelManagers is taking very positive steps to educate personal travel managers and promote the value of cruising and developing strategies and techniques in converting cruise enquiries. CruiseManagers, specialist cruise division, is a growing success,” says Gazal.

TravelManagers increasing cruise sales show the significant contribution home-based consultants make to the cruise sector.

“We applaud the proactive approach from these dedicated personal travel managers to host client events that include cruise suppliers having the opportunity to interact directly with clients. The opportunity for clients to actually experience the Captain Cook Cruises product during the company’s popular lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour is such a bonus and the attention to detail that these personal travel managers put into the event lends itself perfectly to the TravelManagers philosophy of providing the ultimate client travel experience and service,” says Richard Doyle, Head of Sales & Marketing Captain Cook Cruises.

With two resounding client cruise event successes behind them, the Sydney based personal travel managers are already working on planning their next VIP client event.
