Perth’s Food Evolution

The Perth food scene has evolved to rival any capital city in Australia with travellers now choosing Perth as a destination based on its culinary offerings.

That’s according to local tourism business Two Feet & a Heartbeat, who has been at the forefront of introducing tourists and reintroducing locals to the Perth bar and restaurant scene since 2007.

“The food evolution has taken a once deserted city after 9pm – where Fast Eddies was the only option available to late night diners – to a thriving scene that offers everything from foie gras to freekeh, poke bowls to French cheese,” Two Feet owner Ryan Zaknich said.

“We take lots of different visitors on our tours, including many interstate and international journalists, and some people are now coming here purely for the innovation, creativity and amazing selection of produce in the culinary sector.

“Our blue skies, sandy beaches and laid-back lifestyle will always be a drawcard – but we should also be proud that people from all corners of Australia and the world are hearing about our dining revolution.

“With the recent opening of Yagan Square and its array of offerings, plus the launch of the city’s Eat Drink Perth festival, locals and visitors alike are spoilt for choice.”

Two Feet was recently recognised Australia wide with a silver award for Excellence in Food Tourism at the National Tourism Awards.

In celebration of the award, and as part of the Eat Drink Perth 2018 festival, Two Feet are offering 25% off when customers purchase two of their most popular and delicious walking tours – the Fromage Tour and the Cocktail tour.

The Fromage tour visits local institutions Kakulas Brothers and Flour Factory for cheese and charcuterie, then concludes in a private dining room in the underground bank vault at Fromage Artisans. The in-house cheese monger will treat guests to a short masterclass and samples of some of the worlds best cheeses to taste.

The Cocktail tour includes the internationally recognised “Kings Park” cocktail at COMO The Treasury, plus visits to Print Hall and The Marketgrounds for further yummy creations.
