Capri by Fraser_Pete Evans (63)Fresh, nutritious and delicious will be the signature style at Asana Capri Brisbane, the second restaurant to be launched by well-known chef and paleo ambassador Pete Evans in collaboration with Frasers Hospitality.

Opening on April 1 in the new Capri by Fraser, Brisbane hotel, with Evans as consultant chef and chief menu designer, Asanawill showcase the best Queensland produce and reflect Evans’ great love of food.

“At its heart, food should be a celebration and that’s why I’ve designed a series of classic dishes made with fresh, local ingredients that are full of flavour and texture so you’ll remember them long after you’ve finished your stay,” says Evans.

At the helm of the Asana kitchen will be local chef and rising star Josh Harris, most recently Head Chef at Brisbane’s Era Bistro and previously at Baguette Bistrot and Bar and Customs House.

Evans says his menu has been designed with the modern traveller in mind, one who is looking for a dining experience that nourishes both body and soul.

“I spend about eight months on the road so I know how important it is to find a home away from home and get a healthy meal,” says Evans. “Most people are conscious about making healthy food decisions and don’t want to compromise, especially when they are travelling.”

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the adjoining café will offer coffee by Melbourne coffee scientists The Sensory Lab, as well as paleo grab and go items and sweet treats.

Borrowing its name from the yogic term meaning ‘gentle stretching movements to balance body and mind’, Asana reflects the dining habits of the always connected, health-conscious traveller.

The menu offers a vibrant and varied combination of Asian and Middle Eastern flavours carefully created and crafted to appeal to a range of palates.

Guests are spoilt for choice across the a la carte menu with mixed berry pancakes with coconut and vanilla cream for breakfast, and macadamia crumbed chicken schnitzel with fermented raw slaw for lunch or dinner.

Mariusz Tymosiewicz, General Manager, Capri by Fraser, Brisbane said:

“Having Pete Evans collaborate with us at Asana, adds a valuable element to the guest experience. Brisbane is fast establishing itself as an Australian food hub and we’re excited to join this growing food scene.”

Asana Capri Brisbane is the second restaurant collaboration between Evans and Frasers Hospitality. His first restaurant Heirloomat Frasers Suites Perth opened in June 2014.
