Highlights for voyages through Greece in 2019 include:

Exploring the Peloponnese: this 15-day tour explores the Greek mainland’s spectacular southern peninsular famous for its history as well as its landscape, with rugged mountains and rocky peninsulas rising from the blue Mediterranean. This tour covers six UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the gargantuan Bronze Age fortifications of Tiryns and Mycenae, the Classical splendours of Olympia, famous for the games that still bear its name, Epidaurus with its theatre and beautiful Byzantine Mystras. Led by archaeologist guides Heinrich Hall and Nota Karamaouna, the tour runs May 1-15, 2019 with fares from £4,395 per person twin share (approx. AU$8245).

Exploring Crete: Archaeology, Nature and Food: a 13-day tour which traverses the largest of the Greek islands whose historical significance ranges from Stone Age seafarers and Neolithic farmers to the mysterious and fascinating Bronze Age civilisation of the Minoans. Led by Crete specialists Heinrich Hall and Dr. Maria Girtzi, this tour includes a variety of different landscapes and ancient sites, introducing its coasts, mountains, gorges and fertile plains, as well as its historical villages and towns. The tour is complemented by excellent meals in selected restaurants and tavernas, as well as wine tastings from regional vineyards. Departures are April 11, May 2 and October 10, 2019 with fares from £3,895 (approx. AU$7305) per person twin share.

Cruising the Aegean: from Kos to Patmos: this eight-day tour cruises the Dodecanese islands in the sparking azure waters of the Aegean Sea onboard a traditional wooden gulet. Guests discover several ilands, each with its own story: mountainous Kalymnos; Nisyros with its brooding volcanic cone; Patmos crowned by its extraordinary monastery; and serene, secluded Pserimos. Expert guides Prof. Tony Spawforth will introduce some of the finest traces of the region’s long history. From the food, sounds and atmosphere of the welcoming tavernas, to the unique local craft of sponge-diving, guests come away feeling truly immersed in this archipelago’s many delights.
