Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort Offers Guests Unique Eco Tours And New Marine ‘Edutainment’ Concepts

July 26, 2017 Resort News No Comments Email Email

Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort, the newly refurbished upscale oasis on southern Thailand’s idyllic Phi Phi Island, is offering a series of experiences that allow guests to learn more about the area’s unique marine ecosystem. The resort offers a total of 14 different ocean-based trips, each one specially designed to take guests out into the glistening Andaman seas and explore the resort’s stunning natural surroundings by boat.

An exclusive Early Bird excursion takes guests to visit Phi Phi Leh Island in the early morning before the ferries and boats from Phuket and Krabi arrive. Guests can enjoy legendary Maya Bay at sunrise; relaxing on the beach, swimming and snorkeling then head off to explore other beauty spots before the masses descend.

The Island Exploring trip is a half-day adventure that takes guests around the entire enchanting Phi Phi archipelago, while the Shark Seekers tour allows snorkelers to discover the teeming seas of Shark Point, where black tip reef sharks gather to feed.

Alternatively, guests can discover the islet-studded seascape of Phang-Nga Bay by kayak, including a visit to James Bond Island, or explore the spectacular marine environment in a traditional long-tail boat and create magical memories with a Romantic Rendezvous on the waves, including sunset champagne at Bamboo Island.

“The seas that surround Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort are perhaps its greatest attraction and we firmly believe it is our duty to protect them. The first stage of protection is education, and we are delighted to be able to help our guests learn more about Phi Phi’s unique but fragile marine environment world by taking them to its heart,” says Chao Treenawong, General Manager of Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort.

The marine excursions complement the professional services offered by Phi Phi Island Dive Village, the resort’s own PADI-certified Five-Star Gold Palm Dive Centre, which is staffed by expert multi-lingual instructors and provides small group trips to the best dive sites around Phi Phi and Phang-Nga Bay. The resort has also created its own offshore reef to promote coral growth, and the dive centre is a member of the UN-backed Green Fins project which supports marine biodiversity.

Later in 2017, Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort will open its own dedicated Marine Discovery Centre to showcase the life cycles of various types of marine wellers found in the waters around Koh Phi Phi. This interactive facility will offer information about the area’s aquatic environment, plus a gift shop selling souvenirs, and profits will be used to support conservation work.

“We hope that by creating greater awareness of our precious surroundings and the creatures that depend on it, we can help protect and preserve it for future generations,” added Mr. Chao.
