Pilot slaps woman departing US domestic flight

May 1, 2017 Headline News No Comments Email Email

Not again! Adding to the spate of odd and violent happenings on US domestic flights, a video has emerged of a fight between passengers last week in which a Delta pilot appears to intentionally slap a woman in the face.

The footage was captured while passengers were departing a flight in Atlanta and two women got into a fight on the air-bridge and ended up rolling around on the floor.

That’s when the pilot steps in. He briefly tries to separate the women. Then he grabs one of them by the arm. The 30-second clip seems to show him slapping or smacking one of the women to break up the melee.

Celebrity news website TMZ broke the story and you can view the short clip here – but brace yourself for the crazy TMZ singing jingle at the end, just a couple of seconds long!

A Delta spokesman told TMZ the airline had “become aware of this incident and a video last week and immediately removed the pilot from duty while we completed a thorough investigation.

“Local law enforcement was called to respond at the time of the incident. The pilot has since been returned to work as our investigation found that his actions de-escalated an altercation between passengers on the jetway floor during deplaning.”

TMZ said the women in the video knew each other and apparently had been involved in a skirmish earlier, on the plane. Police attended the airport but nobody was charged or wanted to press charges.

Many people may ask themselves what’s happening in US skies.

What a contrast! This publicity photo of a Boeing Stratocruiser in the early 1950s shows a time when decorum ruled, even in economy class.

The disturbing Delta video follows other recent vids showing: a doctor being dragged from his seat on a United flight (a lawsuit over that has been settled out of court); an incident on American Airlines in which a woman with a baby was apparently bumped by a flight attendant (who then almost got into a fight with a male passenger); and a man being ordered off a Delta flight for quickly visiting the toilet as the plane was on the tarmac in a lengthy take-off queue.
