egtmedia59Pilots took emergency action at the weekend and diverted an international flight after all cabin crew aboard began to fall ill, one after the other.

When the number of flight attendants complaining of nausea, running eyes and dizziness reached nine, the pilots realised they were facing some sort of emergency. They diverted the US Airways flight from Italy to the US to Ireland, CNN reported.

Nine flight attendants aboard US Airways Flight 715 complained of “nausea, running eyes and dizziness, while traveling from Venice to Philadelphia,” US Airways spokeswoman Michelle Mohr told CNN.

The stricken flight attendants were rushed to a Dublin hospital where doctors began  evaluating their condition.

In a strange twist, although there were 185 passengers on board the flight, Mohr said there had been no reports of illness from pilots or passengers – only flight attendants.

“We are reaccommodating our customers on other flights to Philadelphia,” Mohr said.

According to, the plane is an Airbus A330-200.
