Plantation Island Resort Welcomes New Executive Chef, Bret Hanson

The management team at Plantation Island Resort are delighted to announce the recent appointment of Bret Hanson as their new Executive Chef. Bret comes to Plantation Island with more than 36 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.  Prior to accepting this role Bret held the role of Executive Chef at Warwick Le Lagon Resort & Spa, while in this position Bret led a team of 58.

Bret’s extensive career has seen him work at a number of properties including Daydream Island Resort & Spa, Brisbane Parkroyal, Rydges Hotels & Resorts, Seaquest Luxury Cruises and many more.

In announcing the appointment, Plantation Island management said that Bret brings with him great experience and knowledge of the industry.  “We’re excited to welcome a chef as experienced as Bret to our team.  Enhancing our food options and quality is an important part of our focus in adding value to the guest experience,” said Raumati Barbara, Global Sales & Marketing Director, Raffles Group of Hotels & Resorts.

When speaking about his new appointment, Bret Hanson said, “I am excited to take up my new position with Plantation Island Resort and look forward to working with management and staff to bring great food and service to our guests.  To do something simple, it doesn’t mean to do it simpler.   We are also introducing the three C’s – Consistency Creates Credibility.”

Hanson is overseeing the operations of three dining outlets including the new Fijian fusion restaurant, The Black Coral.
