Prestigious Awards raise the tourism of Thailand

egtmedia59The Thailand Tourism Awards Project was organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The Project was first implemented in 1996 and continued held every 2 years.

It has thereafter been conducted on an alternate year basis to the 9th presentation of Awards in this year 2013. The Awards ceremony was presented on 27 September, which coincided on the World Tourism Day. This time was held at the Impact Arena.

The Kinnari is a symbol of the prestigious award. Kinnari is a half-human half-bird in ancient Thai literature, representing beauty and exaltation. The lotus symbolizes purity and highness. The pigeon represents peace, brotherhood and harmony. As the direction of the tourism industry has to serve the society and the environment. These Awards was considered as the works selected by the “Kinnari” Awards are an award that represent prestige and honour serve as a mark of quality accreditation of tourist attraction and tourism services, that has been recognized both local and international.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as the major agency in charge of the promotion and publicity of national tourism has realized the importance of the presentation of tourism products and services with quality standards, and thus has organized the Thailand Tourism Awards Project to promote the participation by the tourism industry, the public and private sectors, organizations and communities in managing tourism to have quality as well as create confidence and safety for tourists both Thai and foreigner.

Thus, the “Kinnari” Awards presented to all the award-winning works signify the symbol of tourism accreditation that will gain tourist’s confidence and trust as well as create a positive image to the country. This event has announced the Tourist Guides Awards 39 people to honor for outstanding guides and morale to enhance the quality guides to ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Throughout the years of the project have sent products for contest has won an Award of Excellence for three consecutive times, which was mark to indicate the potential for developed tourism products and services quality standards. The tourism products and services, these were developed until acceptable from international. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) are very proud to award the Award of Honor for ;

1. Farm Chokchai, Nakorn Ratchasrima
This is an agrotourism attraction that has won an Award of Excellence for 4 consecutive times in 2006,2008,2010 and 2013, respectively and has been widely known among Thai and foreign tourists alike. Due to its systematic management, it is Thailand’s first standardized dairy farm and the largest one in Asia.

2. Kaeng Kachan National Park, Phetchaburi
The Park has won an Award for Excellence in the category of National Attractions for 3 consecutive times in 2008,2010 and 2013, respectively. It was declared an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2005.

3. Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa, Chonburi
A 5-star accommodation establishment that has won an Award of Excellence in the category of City Hotel-80 Rooms and Over (Eastern Region) for 3 consecutive times in 2008,2010 and 2013, respectively. The Hotel’s management reiterates environmental conservation on the basis of the sufficiency economy.

In the Thailand Tourism Awards Ceremony will be all six categories of awards.

Six categories of the Awards are as follows ;
1. Awards for Tourism Support and Promotion OrganizationsUntitled
2. Awards for Tourist  Attractions
3. Awards for Tourist Accommodation
4. Awards for Tour Programmes
5. Awards for Health Tourism
6. Awards for Innovations for Thai Tourism Promotion

Moreover, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has conveyed their congratulations and appreciation for the Thai tourism operations and has always attached importance to the Thailand Tourism Awards Project since it has a clear path, achieves concrete success and upholds the good practice on environmental protection in a dimension of sustainable tourism, which is the heart of the world tourism promotion. Hence, the Thailand Tourism Awards has been supported as an important activity of the World Tourism Day on 27 September.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is confident that all prizes to be awarded will be developed to raise standards continues endlessly to create confidence and create a positive image to visitors to Thailand.
