PrestigiousChina Music Awards Hosted at Venetian Macao for Third Consecutive Year CotaiArena stage packed with international stars

Sponsored by The Venetian Macao, the prestigious China Music Awards,with a theme of “Music My Heart, Dream the Future,” returned to the integrated resortfor the third consecutive year, bringing some of the biggest and brightest stars from China and beyond to the Cotai Arena stage Wednesday night.

F12550DD55A107ADAB895B0B2C72B802Excited fans lined the red carpet at The Venetian Macao main lobby to catch glimpses of their favourite superstars attending this year’s18th Channel [V] China Music Awards and Asian Influential Power Grand Ceremony,includingLatin prince Ricky Martin, Korean boy band EXO-M, Japanese singer Kana Nishino, Alan Tam, CoCo Lee, Show Lo, Jimmy Lin,Hins Cheung,Chi-Lam Cheung, Kevin Zheng, Sun Nan, Yu Quan,Yang Yu-Ying, among dozens of others. Joining them on the red carpet were representatives from Star China Media Ltd., and Toh Hup Hock, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer andExecutive Director of Sands China Ltd.;Toh was one of the evening’s award presenters, along with Ciarán Carruthers, Senior Vice President and Director of Venetian and Plaza Operations.International superstarDavid Beckhamalso attended the red carpet and award ceremony, and was one of the award presenters at the mega-event.

A total of 37 awards were presented at the event, including AsianMost Popular Singer, AsianMost Influential Japanese Singer and the China Music Lifetime Achievement Award, among others. Beckham presented the Asian MostStylishSingerand Most Popular International Chinese SingertoCoCo Lee.

The China Music Awardslaunched in 1994 and has since gathered the nation’s top music industry talent in host cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Macaoand Taipei. It is the only Chinese music awards show that is telecast through Star TV and Channel V in China and around the world.

Besides hosting high-profile awards shows, the Cotai Arena has staged performances by some of the Asia’s and the world’s biggest music superstars, including the Rolling Stones, Rihanna, Eason Chan, Girls’ Generation and the stars of the hit TV reality series “The Voice of China.” In 2013 alone, broadcasts (both television and online) of events heldat or sponsored by Sands China properties reached an estimated audience of over 900 million viewers in mainland China. Taking into consideration international broadcasting, the impact spreads further still, pushing global viewership to well over 1 billion.
