Which the award is invaluable to those involved in the tourism industry such as Public Organisation, Private Organisation, Civil Society Organisation, Tourism-based Community and the most important person in the tourism industry is “guide”.

The contest of the Thailand Tourism Awards has been continued for 18 years, which has promoted the importance of the quality of tourism products, prepared personnel concerned in each field of services, and provided a system of information technology and public utilities necessary for tourism. It can be deemed that the works selected by the “Kinnari” Awards are ready-for-sale products with quality standards assuring both Thai and foreign tourism of their confidence.

These Awards of prestige and honour serve as a mark of quality accreditation to be used in advertising and publicity to build on the Untitledbusiness operations. Therefore,The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) take pride in these valuable Awards that can create a symbol of quality tourist attractions, as well as set model products for modern investors, communities, and the private sector. Hence, the selection of works that reflect a clear and outstanding value will bring impetus to the operators not to stay put, but be ready to move toward developing systematically patterns of products and services that create a different and strong image of Thai tourism, which will lead to income from the creation of products and new innovations.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as the major agency in charge of the promotion and publicity of national tourism has realized the importance of the presentation of tourism products and services with quality standards, and thus has organized the Thailand Tourism Awards Project to promote the participation by the tourism industry, the public and private sectors, organisations, and communities in managing tourism to have quality as well as create confidence and safety for tourists both Thais and foreigners. Because the tourism industry plays a vital role in the world economy and is a major product in the international trade system.

As for Thailand’s tourism industry, it can be deemed as a driving force that has had a clear role over the recent decade, features the main product to stimulate tourism traffic both inside and out of the country, and creates economic expansion that leads to employment and widespread distribution of income to communities. However, there have been significant changes in the patterns of competition, tourists’ behavior, and demands of the markets. As a result, tourism product and services have to encounter immense competition, especially environmentally-friendly quality products. Therefore, good management of tourism is a key to push for the competitiveness of product and services in the world market and international recognition.

Moreover, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has conveyed their congratulation and appreciation of the Thai tourism operations and has always attached importance to the Thai Tourism Awards Project since it has a clear path, achieves concrete success, and upholds the good practice on environmental protection in the dimension of sustainable tourism, which is the heart of the world tourism promotion. Hence, the Thailand Tourism Awards has been supported as an important activity of the World Tourism Day on 27 September.


1.         To stimulate the competition of quality of management and services in the tourism industry. To benefit the marketing promotion, social participation, and the parties concerned in order to create sustainable tourism;

2.         To express the clear will of the Tourism Authority of Thailand to do the marketing promotion for the Thai tourism industry, as well as create value and value addedness to tourism products and gain international recognition of this quality symbolic Awards;

3.         To expand the marketing base for operators, agencies, or organization concerned to obtain support and enhancement continuously;

4.         To praise the award-winning works.

In the Thailand Tourism Awards 2013, there will be six categories of awards:

1.         Tourism Support and Promotion Organisations

2.         Tourist Attraction

3.         Tourist Accommodation

4.         Tour Programmes

5.         Health Tourism

6.         Innovations for Thai Tourism Promotion
