Confirming its leadership in the Alaska cruise market, Princess has unveiled a 15 per cent increase in capacity in 2018, offering its largest ever deployment in the Great Land.

Between May and September 2018, seven Princess Cruises’ ships will sail Alaska’s pristine waters on 130 cruise departures from Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, B.C. and Anchorage (Whittier). In addition, the cruise line has over 22 cruisetour options providing guests the opportunity to journey into the interior of Alaska, visiting five custom-built Princess Wilderness Lodges.

New offerings include a full season of calls to Icy Strait Point, a unique and remote wilderness experience, by Island Princess as well as two 12-day roundtrip cruises to Alaska from Los Angeles.

While on board, guests will encounter a variety of ways to engage in unique Alaska experiences through the award-winning North to Alaska program, featuring Cook My Catch, an exclusive culinary program allowing guests to return from select Princess fishing excursions to have the chef prepare their very own catch of the day. Also on offer is the crowd-favourite Puppies in the Piazza, where real Alaska sled dog puppies are brought onboard for guests to interact with.

Fares start from $1229* per person twin share for a seven-night Voyage of the Glaciers from Vancouver to Anchorage departing May 12, 2018, while cruisetour options include a 12-night Denali Explorer itinerary combining a seven-night cruise and five-night land tour, departing May 12, 2018 with fares from $2419* per person twin share.

“Alaska is an incredibly dramatic and exciting place to cruise, which is why the number of Australian passengers exploring the region surged by 20 per cent last year,” Princess Cruises Vice President Australia & New Zealand Stuart Allison said. “We’re delighted to be offering a record number of Alaskan cruises in 2018 – there really is no better way to see Alaska’s glaciers, wildlife and national parks than from the perspective of our spectacular ships, exclusive rail service and Princess-owned wilderness lodges.”

Princess Cruises has also launched its 2018 Canada and New England cruise season, offering its largest deployment with two of its newest ships – Regal Princess and Royal Princess – sailing on itineraries taking in the region’s spectacular autumn foliage as well as famous destinations such as Boston and New York.

Departing New York and Quebec, the 3560-guest ships will offer 10 sailings on four unique itineraries, visiting 12 ports in New England and Canada.  Guests also have a choice of two cruisetours on the East Coast to see the sites of colonial America or Niagara Falls and the best of Eastern Canada.  Fares start from $979* per person twin share for a five-night roundtrip cruise from New York departing October 27, 2018.

Meanwhile, Princess has announced a return to Caribbean summer cruising, giving Australian holidaymakers a chance to escape winter as Caribbean Princess offers 47 round trip departures from Fort Lauderdale between April and September 2018. Options range from seven-day Caribbean adventures to longer 20-day Caribbean and Panama Explorer voyages enabling travellers to explore the beaches of the Caribbean and experience the engineering genius of the Panama Canal, transiting the new Agua Clara Locks.

Fares start from $1419* per person twin share for a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, departing May 19, 2018.
