The annual Taiwan MICE Awards, held by Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, aims to improve Taiwan’s brand image in the global MICE community and foster prosperous MICE industry development by highlighting organizations with exemplary MICE achievements. The 2016 general guidelines for the Taiwan MICE Awards were announced in April.

To maximize marketing effectiveness, several new promotional campaigns were launched this year, with focus on media networks as one of them. Videos that feature 2016 award winners can be seen at important MICE venues, such as the TWTC Exhibition Hall, Nangang Exhibition Hall, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, and Taipei International Convention Center as well as at prominent MICE events held both in Taiwan and other countries. Foreign reporters are invited to cover MICE news in Taiwan while the MICE Awards Guide made together with renowned media companies in the field of trade and economy is published to enhance the image of all the winners.

For 2016, the BOFA has increased the prize money to show its appreciation of the achievements of Taiwan MICE Awards winners.

1. Prize money of NT$80,000 for gold award winners remains the same, but prize money for silver and bronze award winners increases from NT$30,000 to NT$50,000 and NT$20,000 to NT$30,000 respectively.

2. Organizers of winning exhibitions (gold, silver, and bronze awards) in 2016 may invite one foreign reporter to visit and cover the show the next time when it is held.

3. Winners may nominate employees who have finished at least five certification courses for the CEM program or who have completed the CMP program to apply for subsidies to help sponsor their participation in events held by international convention and exhibition organizations. Depending on destination, each person’s subsidy may vary from NT$10,000 to NT$60,000.
