Visit Victoria will head interstate this week to promote the state’s extensive tourism experiences to international buyers and media at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2018 in Adelaide.

More than 650 travel wholesalers and retailers from 30 countries are expected to attend the conference in Adelaide where 60 Victorian sellers will represent the front line of the state’s visitor economy showcasing the diversity of Victoria as a visitor destination.

Several Victorian companies will make their debut at ATE this year, including Acacia Luxury Private Tours, Australian Tourism Partners, Chadstone – The Fashion Capital and Mornington Peninsula’s Arthurs Seat Eagle.

Visit Victoria staff, including representatives from its international offices, will attend the conference to meet with airline partners, travel wholesalers and retailers as well as international and domestic media.

With more than 45,000 business appointments expected to be held during the event, ATE provides Visit Victoria with the invaluable opportunity to forge new partnerships and influence some of the world’s biggest players in the tourism sector.

Visit Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bingeman, will attend ATE 2018 alongside General Manager, Consumer Markets, Nicki Kenyon.

Proud of Visit Victoria’s involvement at ATE, CEO Peter Bingeman said “Visit Victoria is working tirelessly alongside the tourism industry at events like ATE to grow the visitor economy and keep travellers flocking to the state in their millions.”

“ATE provides a great opportunity for Visit Victoria to sell the strengths of our destination to the world. We are lucky in Victoria that our compact diversity offers something for everyone, whether it’s a pulsating city break, a hinterland or coastal escape, or a culinary or cycling adventure.”

Visit Victoria has played a vital part in delivering economic success to Victoria, ensuring the tourism and major events sectors deliver sustained growth.

Visit Victoria’s aim is to become Australia’s number one visitor destination and generate $36.5 billion in visitor spend by 2025, supporting more than 320,000 jobs.
