Delve deep into the Amazon jungle, go sky high to Machu Picchu and cheers your Pisco glasses as PromPeru goes live in Australia next month during its three-city roadshow.

Embracing a new games night format to engage, inspire and educate travel agents the PromPeru Roadshow will be hosted in Sydney on 18 November, Brisbane on 19 November and Melbourne on 20 November.

Moving away from the traditional ‘speed-dating’ style roadshow, the format of events this year is aimed at creating a fun interactive platform for agents to actively participate and learn about Peru’s diverse and vibrant tourism offerings.

Upon arrival travel agents will receive their “Peru Passport” giving them access to key members of the industry during networking sessions throughout the evening. Then, following a destination presentation, agents will battle it out in a number of interactive quiz rounds for some exciting prizes.

Quizzes will be garnered from the destination presentation that will focus on educating agents on Peru’s cultural icons, natural attractions, gastronomic experiences as well as key destinations for the Australian traveller.

The evening will also offer Peruvian inspired canapés and a Pisco Sour demonstration by recognised Peruvian chefs including Jorge Chacon and Alejandro Saravia.

PromPeru’s coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region, Ms Rosana Guinea, notes it is the combination of old and new experiences that is enticing Aussie travellers to the region.

“Peru is well known for is rich history and culture, however it is also the influx of new product, including luxury and boutique hotel openings and top gastronomic experiences that has helped put us firmly on the traveller map. During this year’s roadshow we are focusing on educating in a fun and interactive way with our aim being to get the agents talking about the destination to their colleagues and reminding them that Peru is the ultimate South American holiday for their Australian clients,” says Ms Guinea.

Partners who will be attending the roadshow include: Adventure World, SATO, Contours, Scenic Tours, Natural Focus Safaris, Travel Projects, Chimu Adventures, Tempo Holidays, Movidas, South American Travel Specialists, Tucan Travel, G Adventures, Intrepid, Perwegrine, Geckos, South America Travel Centre and LAN Airlines.
