A Qantas captain has made a very public proposal to his true love from the flight deck of a A380 while piloting flight QF93 from Melbourne to Los Angeles – and the story is spreading rapidly around the world.
The tale of Captain Dooley Ellis and his beloved Anna (who was aboard the flight) has been shared by the airline in a Twitter post and on the Qantas Facebook page.
Captain Ellis took the microphone to deliver a very special message over the A380’s public address system.
Captain Ellis prepares to pop the question
“We also have a very special passenger on board today folks, her name is Anna.
“She’s travelling back to South America now to visit her family and I want to make sure she comes back to me in Australia.
“So now that I have her complete attention, quieres casarte conmigo – will you marry me?”
Captain Ellis is then shown carrying a bunch of flowers to Anna’s seat and, in the finest tradition, going down on one knee to pop the question.
It’s very romantic – and you can probably guess Anna’s reply!
Captain Ellis has been a Qantas pilot for 30 years and has made many inflight announcements. But this weekend on QF93 he made a different announcement for a very special passenger…
