Qatar Airways is making international travel even more accessible for Australian travellers looking to head abroad in 2020 with their annual Boxing Day sale, providing special fares to European cities including Athens, Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Lisbon, Istanbul, London, Manchester, Malta, Prague, Budapest and more.

With over 55 European destinations to choose from, Australians now have even more options to explore, with fares starting from $1,019* return in Economy Class and $5,429* return in Business Class. Travellers can fly to Dublin from $1,019, Paris from $1,149, London from $1,249, Barcelona from $1,089 and Athens from $1,219.

The fares are available from today until 29 December 2019 and select travel dates apply. Travellers can book on Qatar Airways’ website or at their preferred travel agent.

Qatar Airways Senior Manager for Australasia Mr. Adam Radwanski said: “We’re thrilled to have launched a number of exciting destinations in 2019, including Malta, Lisbon and Izmir. Travellers have plenty to choose from, whether you want to visit our most popular cities for Australians – London and Athens, go off the beaten path in places such as Warsaw, Budapest, Sarajevo, Skopje or Sofia, or enjoy European holiday hotspots of Mykonos, Santorini, Malaga or Barcelona. There really is something for everyone.”

The fares mark the end of another successful year for the airline in Australia. In 2019 Qatar Airways launched its award-winning patented Qsuite Business Class product on its Adelaide route and introduced its first next-generation Airbus A350-1000 aircraft to Australia. This year also signified 10 years since the airline first launched in the country.

A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by the 2019 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, ‘World’s Best Business Class’ and ‘Best Business Class Seat’, in recognition of its ground-breaking Business Class experience, Qsuite. Qatar Airways is the only airline to have been awarded the coveted “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title, which is recognised as the pinnacle of excellence in the airline industry, five times.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 250 aircrafts via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. The airline has recently launched an array of exciting new destinations, including Rabat, Morocco; Izmir, Turkey; Malta; Davao, Philippines; Lisbon, Portugal; Mogadishu, Somalia; Langkawi, Malaysia; and Gaborone, Botswana. The airline will add Luanda, Angola; Santorini, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Osaka, Japan, following in 2020.
