Qatar Airways will resume daily flights between Adelaide and Doha from 2 December 2017, providing greater connectivity options for consumers and businesses.
Performance on this route has exceeded expectations, both in terms of consumer demand and also air freight. Since Qatar Airways commenced its direct service between Adelaide and Doha in May 2016, air freight exports from South Australia more than tripled from $115,000 to $355,000 as the demand for the state’s wine, fresh food and electrical appliances increased in Qatar(1).

Adam Radwanski, Senior Manager at Qatar Airways Australasia, said the return to daily flights on this route demonstrates the airline’s commitment to the South Australian market.

“Qatar Airways presence in Australia was very much strengthened in 2016 and Adelaide passengers have welcomed us with open arms since our inaugural flight in May 2016. We are delighted to be resuming daily flights on the Adelaide-Doha route this December, providing consumers more opportunities to enjoy our award-winning service onboard the state-of-the-art A350 aircraft,” said Mr Radwanski.

“Trade and air freight between Australia and the Middle East has significantly increased over the past year and we are proud to play a role in this exciting expansion for South Australian businesses. Not forgetting also bringing in tourists from around the world to explore Adelaide and its surrounding areas.”

Travellers to and from Adelaide can benefit from a premium on-board experience on the Qatar Airways A350 aircraft, which now features new luxury amenity kits through a three year partnership with BRIC’S.

BRIC’S, a luxury Italian brand, has created two ranges of bespoke travel bags, available in four different colours for Business Class passengers on the A350. The travel bags contain a range of exclusive Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchi products, an environmentally friendly olive oil company, including lip balm, hydrating facial mist and city cream anti-aging moisturizer.

Passengers flying from Adelaide onwards to any of the more than 150 destinations, including 40 European destinations, which Qatar Airways operates will enjoy a quick and convenient transfer at Hamad International Airport, featuring more than 100 retail and dining options and unique services such as a swimming pool, hotel and spa.

In addition, Business Class passengers travelling onward to popular destinations such as London and Paris will soon have the chance to experience Qatar Airways’ revolutionary QSuite, featuring the industry’s first-ever double bed available in Business Class. The new seat design onboard the B777-300 aircraft features privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the centre four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, giving them the opportunity to work, dine and socialise together. These new features provide the ultimate customisable travel experience that enables passengers to create an environment that suits their own unique needs.

Known for pioneering industry firsts, Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, and is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Now in its 20th year of operations, Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of 195 aircraft flying to business and leisure destinations across six continents.

In 2017, Qatar Airways will launch a myriad of new destinations including Dublin, Ireland; Las Vegas, USA; Rio de Janerio, Brazil and Santiago, Chile.
