Queensland is on show to thousands of Kiwi households after the second Bachelor New Zealand season began airing episodes filmed exclusively in Queensland.

The Bachelor New Zealand visited Brisbane, the Scenic Rim, Emu Creek near Crows Nest, Maryvale near Warwick and Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba as part of one of New Zealand’s highest rating television shows.

The first of three episodes filmed in the Sunshine State went to air in New Zealand overnight with the contestants experiencing some quintessential Queensland experiences.

Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) Chief Executive Officer, Leanne Coddington, said the show would inspire more New Zealand travellers to visit Queensland, the best address on earth.

“It’s a great opportunity to promote Queensland to one of our biggest international visitor markets and profile our many destination experiences,” Ms Coddington said.

“The first episode featured Brisbane’s South Bank, Nightfall Wilderness Camp in the Scenic Rim and the Rose Ceremony on board the Kookaburra Queen Cruise.

“The show heads to Southern Queensland Country for tonight’s episode with a horseback group date in Emu Creek before settling back at Spicers Peak Lodge in Maryvale and Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba.”

Tourism and Events Queensland worked with the Bachelor New Zealand to host the first season’s final two shows on the Gold Coast in 2015.

More than 460,000 people tuned in to see the finale to New Zealand’s first Bachelor series set against one of Queensland’s most famous coastal destinations.

“The show generates a considerable audience in New Zealand and is a fantastic platform to highlight Queensland’s diverse destination experiences,” said Ms Coddington.

“The third Queensland episode airs next Monday in New Zealand with the final destination still under wraps.”
