Queensland tourism campaign harnesses Flight Centre

egtmedia59The six-million-dollar commercial partnership between Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and Flight Centre has come to fruition, promoting Queensland across Australia.

Queensland’s Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games, Jann Stuckey, said the initiative encouraged sustained domestic demand for travel to Queensland.

“Flight Centre is Australia’s largest travel retailer and this campaign will keep Queensland holiday experiences top of mind amongst key visitor markets in New South Wales, Victoria and intrastate,” Stuckey said. http://www.colestraining.com/

“The domestic marketing blitz is the first phase in a series of campaigns to be rolled out during our three year agreement with Flight Centre.

“Australian holidaymakers planning a summer getaway will be targeted through promotions across Flight Centre’s national network of 780 stores as well as in TV, print, online and social media.

“The Queensland Government’s 20-year plan for tourism, Destination Success, outlines the importance of partnering with industry to support the growth of tourism in the state.

TEQ chief executive, Leanne Coddington, said the campaign demonstrated the variety of holiday experiences on offer throughout Queensland destinations with great value holiday deals providing a motivator to travel.

“TEQ’s objective is to increase visitor numbers, length of stay and tourism spend across Queensland destinations,” Coddington said.

“This campaign sees the partnership off to a strong start and reinforces Queensland’s image as Australia’s premier holiday destination.”

The Queensland Flight Centre campaign is in market until the end of October 2014, with advertised travel dates extending through until May 2015 in partnership with Flight Centre’s flagship wholesale brand, Infinity Travel, as well as Virgin Australia.
