A Queensland company that specialises in the provision of software solutions for major world events will be the Official Accommodation and Transfers Software Supplier for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games ™ (GC2018).

Centium Software, which was involved in software delivery for arrivals, departures and protocol at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, will once again provide software to support accommodation and transfers to and from official points of entry.

The firm will provide an interactive and flexible reservation system to GOLDOC which will involve the management of detailed accommodation property information and online bookings and payment.

Centium Software is based in Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains in Brisbane and will use local resources to deliver the majority of its services.

Commonwealth Games Minister Stirling Hinchliffe welcomed the sponsorship announcement.

“Centium has a wealth of experience working on the delivery of software for major sporting events and they have been involved in the last three Commonwealth Games,” Mr Hinchliffe said.”

“I am confident they will draw on this experience, honed across so many previous Games and world events, to help Queensland successfully deliver the country’s biggest multi-sport spectacular this decade.

“The Queensland company has a strong reputation for successfully partnering with Games organisers to provide software solutions for some of the world’s biggest sporting events including the 2012 London Olympic Games and 2010 Commonwealth Games.

“The firm has also been involved in the provision of services to four Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings (CHOGM), the G20 Summits of 2006 and 2014, the APEC Summit of 2007 and the 2002 United Nations World Summit.”

Centium Software CEO, Trevor Gardiner said the entire team was thrilled to be a sponsor of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

“We’ve been in the events technology business for over 30 years, and we are always excited to provide technology that helps deliver world-class events such as the Commonwealth Games.

“EventsAIR, our flagship event platform, was designed from the ground up to leverage today’s newest cloud technology,” Mr Gardiner said.

“Our platform can handle the largest events in the world and is able to scale up to handle periods of intense activity and demand,” he said.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) Chairman Nigel Chamier AM said Games organisers are buoyed by the early interest and confidence shown by the commercial sector.

“GC2018 represents an enormous opportunity for corporate Australia to align product and services with a world renowned brand,” Mr Chamier said.

“For Centium Software, it is a chance to once again show the world what amazing products this home grown Queensland business is capable of delivering.

“This partnership also provides Centium Software staff with an opportunity to be involved in the delivery of the biggest event that may ever occur in their home state.

“And to be announcing the company as an Official Supplier of GC2018 just days short of our Two Years to Go celebrations on Monday 4 April is an indicator that our commercial program is very well supported and well and truly on track,” he said.
