When visiting the city of Graz and Salzburg it feels like coming home – and it is not only the famous Austrian hospitality. Explore the charms of two cities where you can wander in imperial palaces and get lost in modern art. Combine architecture and art with culinary delights on our 3-day Graz-itinerary, immerse yourself in striking natural beauty on our Salzburg highlight tour and find out what’s happening at the moment!

Graz is Austria´s southern gem and dates back to the Roman age. UNESCO experts were so impressed by the interplay of modern architecture and outstanding sights that they awarded the Old-Town with a protection status. But Graz has even more to offer. The city is known as Austria´s Culinary Capital and a hotspot for foodies and wine lovers. It is not a coincidence that architecture fans as well as food enthusiasts have already discovered Graz’ distinctive flair.

Salzburg is “Austria’s baroque jewel”, a UNESCO World Heritage and where you can walk in the footsteps of royalty. Once you visit Salzburg, you cannot get round the illustrious history, dominated by ornate Baroque architecture and an artistic heritage that rivals Europe’s capitals. Beyond Hohensalzburg Fortress, the striking SalzburgerLand region tempts with equally impressive natural sights. You can tour the world´s largest ice caves, explore old salt mines or cool off at one of Europe´s tallest waterfalls. All within two hours of the city.

Right now, Salzburg and Graz are getting ready for the Christmas season. Advent in Graz means arriving in an urban world of magic comprising romantic markets, glittering alleys and an enchanting atmosphere anticipating Christmas that captivates both young and old alike. Over these few weeks, Graz presents itself as the Capital of Delight for all the senses. The Advent and Christmas markets open in Graz on Friday 17 November. All of them are arranged with loving attention and present their various special themes till 24 December.

In Salzburg, the Christkindlmarkt on Dom- and Residenzplatz squares is undoubtedly one of the world’s most beloved, featuring a magical selection of arts, crafts and culinary treats. Salzburg Advent Singing as well as countless events reflecting deeply rooted folk traditions guarantee a cultural program second to none. True to this year’s motto “Children’s Smiles”, the organizers of the Christkindlmarkt from 23 November to 26 December 2017 are focused squarely on their smaller guests. Another highlight is the Winterfest – the biggest European festival of contemporary circus performance – which takes place on the romantic grounds of the Volksgarten in Salzburg. 29 November 2017 to 7 January 2018, acclaimed international troupes will bring their modern circus artistry to the “big tops” here in Salzburg.

The icing on the cake is that the Austrian Federal Railways (OEBB) takes you from Vienna International Airport directly to both cities. So what are you waiting for?
